Disana Merino Wool Shorty
Protective pants made of double-knitted merino wool, crafted from soft and pleasant organic wool. They are ideal for the smallest babies with sensitive skin.
An excellent alternative to synthetic protective pants (with PUL), Disana wool diaper covers are naturally antibacterial and ensure excellent moisture regulation.
Wool wicks moisture away from the skin and can absorb up to a third of its weight in moisture and release it into the environment. Once prepared and ready to use, you will have no leaks with this wool cover, making it an excellent choice for nighttime.
- Perfect for newborns, to be used with Disana tie-on diapers, the Disana shorty does not mark the newborn's thighs and belly: it does not include elastic.
- The high knitted waist not only prevents leaks but also keeps baby's belly warm.
- Particularly recommended for babies with sensitive skin (eczema, redness).
- Lanolin, a natural wax contained in the wool fiber, allows the shorty to neutralize odors and be waterproof.
When changing baby, if the shorty is a little damp, simply let it air dry: the natural self-cleaning function of wool will make the shorty clean and hygienic for new use.
If the pants are soiled or start to leak, you will need to wash and lanolize them as described below.
To lanolize your Disana wool pants, you will need a basin and lanolin (I recommend the Disana or Ulrich brand)
- Step 1: Wash your wool pants with a wool shampoo, rinse with lukewarm water.
- Step 2: Heat 1L of water (about 30°C) with 2 spoons of lanolin (approximately).
- Step 3: Put your pants in the basin and let them soak for about 30 minutes.
- Step 4: Wring out the wool pants in a towel and dry them flat (no sun, no radiator).
Disana Pants: Our advice before first use
- We recommend lanolizing the pants at least once, or even twice, before using them to renew their moisture-repellent capacity.
- If the pants leak, they need to be lanolized again.
- The wool will better contain leaks with use as it becomes slightly more felted.
- Wool does not get dirty easily and does not retain odors, so it does not need to be washed very frequently.

Disana Shorty: Our washing instructions
If possible, hand wash (with a special wool shampoo), but you can also machine wash (wool program).
Once a month, give it a lanolin bath to maintain its waterproofing.
Drying tip: wrap it in a terry towel to remove as much water as possible, then dry flat. Air dry, avoiding direct sun heat.
