How to use pure lanolin for your wool garments?
- Pure lanolin is used to re-waterproof your wool garments (e.g. outdoor clothing such as coats), or for wool diaper covers (or shorties).
- Dissolve a pea-sized amount of lanolin in hot water, emulsifying it (stir well) with a few drops of wool shampoo.
The easiest way is to do it in a cup. You can even microwave it for a few seconds to melt the lanolin. - Fill a basin with lukewarm water and add this melted lanolin water to your basin. Swirl it with your hand. If the water is too hot, add a little cool water. The water in the basin should be generally lukewarm.
- Then add your wool cover. Saturate the cover with water. Stir and gently squeeze it to ensure all the lanolin reaches the wool fibers.
- Let the cover soak for 20 to 30 minutes.

Lanolin for breastfeeding and sore nipples?
During breastfeeding, your nipples can become sore, dry, and even cracked. Many healthcare professionals recommend lanolin creams to relieve nipple pain due to breastfeeding.
One of the big advantages is that ingesting small amounts of lanolin by your baby is generally considered safe. It is recommended to use it at least ten minutes before breastfeeding. But unlike other products, there is no need to wipe it off.
