Cherry-shaped natural latex pacifier

Bibs Colour is the brand's original pacifier. Made of latex, it has been on the market since 1973. The pacifier consists of the iconic round BIBS shield with three ventilation holes and a round BIBS ring.

The Bibs color & bohème pacifier is a round pacifier that resembles the shape and size of a mother's breast to provide comfort to your baby. Moreover, the round nipple promotes tongue placement and sucking technique similar to breastfeeding, as the round shape allows the sides of the tongue to rise and wrap around the nipple, just as it does during breastfeeding.

The pacifier is equipped with a valve that releases air when the baby closes the pacifier. Thanks to this ventilation system, the air in the pacifier is expelled through the valve, which flattens the pacifier so that it naturally fits the baby's oral cavity. The valve is also the reason why water may appear inside the pacifier after cleaning and sterilization. If this happens, simply squeeze the pacifier flat to remove any excess water.

Bibs De lux: the silicone pacifier

Bibs De Lux pacifiers are made of silicone and are designed to promote proper jaw development and reduce pressure during teething. Silicone is a synthetic material with a less flexible but firmer texture. With silicone, your baby cannot develop allergies, and it is a slightly more durable material. Unlike natural rubber, silicone is completely tasteless and odorless, which many parents also prefer. You might think that silicone is clearly better, but that's not the case.

Rubber or silicone pacifier?

It's a matter of taste. The advantage is that the synthetic material, silicone, does not age and generally retains its shape longer than latex. The disadvantage of silicone is that it is less resistant to sharp teeth. Latex is a durable natural material, and this is an advantage if the child bites the pacifier more than others. The disadvantage is that the pacifier must be replaced approximately every 4 to 8 weeks, as the pacifier part changes color and begins to swell.

Tips for using Bibs pacifiers

• To sterilize a Bibs pacifier, immerse it in boiling water for a maximum of 2 minutes. Excessive sterilization can melt the rubber.
• Do not put in the dishwasher or sterilizer.
• Check the pacifier daily after cleaning, before giving it to your child, especially if they are starting to get teeth. Pull the nipple. Discard it at the first sign of degradation.

When to replace the pacifier?

We recommend replacing pacifiers every 4 to 6 weeks for safety and hygiene reasons. Pay attention to any changes in the surface, any changes in size and shape, or any breaks in the material, and replace the pacifier if you notice any differences. Pull the nipple in all directions and inspect it carefully before use and replace the pacifier at the first sign of damage or weakness.

Natural rubber latex, unlike silicone pacifiers, is a natural material and is affected by sunlight, high temperatures, and humidity, which accelerate the aging process of the latex material. Consequently, the material changes properties and can become brittle or sticky. Whenever you notice a change in the material, the pacifier should be replaced.
